Trial Period Policy

Trial Period: To assure that the child care arrangements are a good match for the child and the provider there will be a two-week trial period. Within this period either the family or the provider may terminate child care for any reason without notice. If the arrangements don’t seem to match your family, we will help you in any way we can to help you find care that meets your family’s needs.

Termination Policies

Non-immediate termination: If the provider (myself or my staff) decides that this childcare home is not a good fit for a child/family, you will receive 14 days' notice to find another placement for your child. Non-immediate circumstances that would mean that your child/family is not a good fit for my childcare home include but are not limited to:

  • Repeated disrespectful/foul language or behavior from the child or parents towards me, my staff, other children/parents in my care, or anyone in my family.
  • Repeatedly avoiding contact with the provider that is necessary for the care of the child.
  • The severe behavior policies have been enacted and gotten to offenses 1-4, the discussion will be opened as to whether this is the right place for your child.
  • Continual non-payment despite much grace being given.
  • Your child has received an, “Uh-oh! I’ve outgrown this program” notice meaning that your child is too old for this program.

Immediate termination: In the event that the provider (myself or my staff) decides to terminate the child care relationship immediately the provider reserves the legal right to terminate the child care relationship without prior notice. To avoid the unfortunate situation from occurring, parents and legal guardians are required to thoroughly read the entire child care handbook and contract. Parents and legal guardians are required to ask for a detailed explanation of any child care rules and regulations they do not clearly understand prior to enrolling the child in the child care. Immediate circumstances that would mean that your child/family is not a good fit for my childcare home include but are not limited to:

  • The severe behavior policies have been enacted and gotten to offense 5.
  • Severe disrespect or violence (in word or deed) from parent or child to myself, my staff, any other children in my care, or their parents.
