About Me: Christina Roth

Hi! My name is Christina and I am the main caregiver, owner, and operator of Children of Jubilee! I started this childcare business in 2015 because I had the desire to give children a safe place to learn and be children while their parents are away at work. The model in which I have done this has changed a bit over the years but the goal is still the same: Giving children the freedom to love and be loved! Unique Features of Children of Jubilee

Bachelor's of Science in 2012

Communication Disorders

Truman State University

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Disorders which I incorporate on a daily basis with all of the children in my care so every child who attends this daycare is receiving a basic level of speech therapy development. I am also in the process of learning ASL so I use it with the kids as well.

Curriculum

Weekly Book Theme

Weekly Book Themes with the following elements:

  • Book

  • Fine Motor

  • Gross Motor

  • Arts/Crafts

  • Sensory Activity

  • Special Snack

Gentle Discipline

TBRI and Gentle Caregiving Practices

Because of the fact that my discipline system (See TBRI Page) is much more involved than the average daycare, I become much more than simply a babysitter to the children. I aim to become a trusted adult that they can share their feelings and thoughts with no matter how good or bad. In order to achieve this I must keep my numbers small so that I have more time to listen to the needs and feelings of my group.

Life Skills

  • Potty Training

  • Toothbrushing

  • Dressing Self

Socio-Emotional

  • Kindness to others (and yourself)

  • Bible Stories

  • Lots of discussion of emotions and feelings

Diversity

I teach the children here that all skin colors and cultures are equally valid and beautiful.

One on One Time

Your child receives lots of one on one time because of the fact that I am legally unlicensed and never have more than 6 kids at a time.
